Florence Park History

Florence Park was established in 1972 Florence Park and currently have have 6 teams representing the club and continue to look to grow in the coming seasons.  Florence Park have been a Chartered Standard club now for 5 years and strives to provide a better environment and level of coaching for all of their players.  After assisting The Oxford Academy to secure the 3G facility, the club can proudly continue to use the best facilities to develop their teams for many years to come.  If you would like to be a part of the club then please do not hesitate to contact Lee Pankau on 07792303119 or alternatively via e-mail to pankaulee@hotmail.com.

Who we are and what we do

We’re an FA Affiliated and Charter Standard Club playing in Oxford Mail Youth Football League. We’re open to all and does not restrict joining due to race, religion, gender or ability. A community club whose mission is to develop excellence in individuals, team work, community citizenship, physical and mental development through healthy organised training sessions.

We have teams ranging from U7s to U16s with over 70 players registered with FA.

We coach our young players the basic fundamentals of football, forster good sportsmanship, communication and social skills, life and self-discipline and provide an excellent physical challenge and all necessary character building skills.
Our coaches are FA accredited unpaid volunteers and have a valid first aid and DBS certificate as child welfare and health and safety are at the forefront of everything we do.

Child Welfare

In regard to child welfare, we have a designated child welfare officer within our club should you have any concerns or if you wish to raise any issue regarding child welfare.

Coaches

All our coaches are volunteers who give up their time to Coach football. We ask you to to show them respect and support them in any way you can. Communication is very important when children’s lives and welfare is involved, it’s important that you inform the Coach about allergies, medications, absentees and holidays as soon as practical.

CODE OF CONDUCT AND RESPONSIBILITIES FOR OUR COACHES, PARENTS AND GUARDIANS

As a club we expect our coaches to behave and conduct themselves in a professional manner to set a positive example to the kids and in turn we expect the parents and guardians to behave in the same manner.

Coaches will act as role models by setting high standards of behaviour and communication in training and on matchday Coaches will treat all players equally Coaches will update parents and players on any changes that maybe enacted by Florence Park Football Club, Oxford Mail Youth League or Oxfordshire FA or The FA Coaches will update parents and players on any changes regarding training session dates, times and venues as soon as it is practical Coaches will share any relevant information with the parents concerned regarding their children

  • We will respect the officials
  • We will not question or harangue the Officials
  • No blame policy if players make mistakes
  • We will not disrespect the opposition
  • We will be gracious in defeat
  • You will respect coaches team selection and decisions
  • Parents will not interfere or coach their children during training sessions or matches that is the coaches responsibility. Doing so is disrespectful
  • You will make appropriate transport arrangements for your child to attend training and matches
  • Ensure your child is in fit state and presentable for training and matches
  • Ensure your child has appropriate footwear and shin pads for training and matches
  • All players and parents input, suggestions and concerns will be taken into deep consideration, however it is at the coaches discretion to act on them
CODE OF CONDUCT FOR PLAYERS
  • Respect coaches and teammates
  • NO talking when Coach is talking
  • NO bouncing or kicking balls when Coach is talking
  • Turn up 10-15 minutes early for training
  • Turn up 20-40 minutes early for the match
  • Players MUST have correct footwear and shin pads for training and matches
  • ALL bookings and sending off fines to be paid by players, parents or guardians
  • All of the above are just some of what we expect from our coaches, parents, guardians and players but not all.
